Exeter Chiefs back-row forward Ben White has today joined Newport-Gwent Dragons on a three-week loan deal.

With the Pro 12 side currently hampered with a string of injuries to their back-row options, the arrival of the 32-year-old Australian is a timely one for the Welsh region.

White, who joined the Chiefs back in 2011 from Cardiff Blues, has to date amassed 94 appearances for the Chiefs, scoring 17 tries in the process.

Head coach Rob Baxter said: "Ben has gone to the Dragons on loan for three weeks, although we do have an immediate release clause within the agreement should we need him back at the club. It's a good opportunity for him to go up there, get some quality game time under his belt, and keep himself match-fit for what is a big block of Premiership games coming up for us."

White will team up with former Exeter players Lloyd Fairbrother and Adam Hughes at Rodney Parade and should go straight into contention for their upcoming Pro 12 game away to Ulster.
