A miserable day overhead failed to put the dampeners on a magical day for over 600 boys and girls at the annual Bradfords Community Cup held at Newton Abbot Rugby Club.

Around 40 teams from across the region assembled for the popular and fun-filled Under-7 and Under-8 tag rugby festival.

Despite heavy rain and testing conditions underfoot, the event - which is of the highlights of the year for the Exeter Chiefs Community department - once again proved a smash hit with players, coaches and supporters alike.

Working in conjunction with key club partner, Bradfords Building Supplies, the Community Cup festival aims not only to support local, youth sports teams, but also provide them with invaluable experiences to youngsters taking part.

As part of the day, each team has a team photo taken which is then uploaded onto social media, where the aim is for them to generate as many likes and shares as possible. The four teams who can generate the most likes and shares and are invited back to Sandy Park and have the opportunity to play in another festival on the Exeter Chiefs training pitch, as well as watching a Gallagher Premiership match.

Exeter Chiefs Community department wish to thank Bradfords Building Supplies for their continued support, as well as Newton Abbot RFC and the Devon Young Match Officials, who helped with refereeing on the day.
