Will Chudley’s brilliant individual score in Exeter’s away win at Northampton Saints is one of eight tries revealed on the shortlist for the 2017-18 Citizen Try of the Season award.

For the first time ever, the public will get the chance to pick the Citizen Try of the Season award winner, with voting taking place on the official Premiership Rugby app.

Simply open the app and you will be able to watch all eight shortlisted tries and cast your vote.

Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 13 May and if you can’t see the Citizen Try of the Season in your app then please make sure you check the App Store / Play Store for the latest update.

The eight shortlisted tries were selected due to being David Flatman’s Try of the Month winners, and the full Citizen Try of the Season shortlist is:

  • Round 4 – Billy Twelvetrees (Gloucester Rugby) v Worcester Warriors
  • Round 5 – Mikey Haywood (Northampton Saints) v Harlequins
  • Round 9 – Jack Singleton (Worcester Warriors) v Leicester Tigers
  • Round 11 – Will Chudley (Exeter Chiefs) v Northampton Saints
  • Round 13 – Sinoti Sinoti (Newcastle Falcons) v Exeter Chiefs
  • Round 14 – Henry Trinder (Gloucester Rugby) v Leicester Tigers
  • Round 18 – Faf de Klerk (Sale Sharks) v Worcester Warriors
  • Round 21 – Tom Homer (Bath Rugby) v Gloucester Rugby

Last year’s Citizen Try of the Season award winner was Wasps’ Jimmy Gopperth for his sublime score against Northampton Saints in Round 4.

But with 776 tries scored this Aviva Premiership Rugby season – the most ever beating the 750 tallied in 1999-2000 – this season’s competition was one of the most hotly contested.

The winner will rub shoulders with the biggest names in English rugby at a glittering ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Wednesday, 16 May.
