Exeter Chiefs will kick-off the new Gallagher Premiership season with a home clash against Leicester Tigers after the 2018/19 figures were revealed today.

Rob Baxter’s side will play host to English rugby’s most decorated side in front of the BT Sport cameras on Saturday, September 1 (4:30pm).

It will kick-off the Devon club’s ninth season in the top flight and heralds the start of 22 rounds of battle where the Chiefs will be hoping they can reach the end of season final at Twickenham for a fourth successive season.

In what will be a testing opening block of fixtures, the Chiefs open up against the Tigers before travelling to Wasps a week later (Sept 8, 2pm), again in front of the TV cameras. A home date against Sale Sharks is next up on September 15 at Sandy Park (3pm), quickly followed by the long trek to one of last season’s beaten semi-finalists, Newcastle Falcons on Friday, September 21 (7:45pm).

The opening month of the season is wrapped up on Saturday, September 29 when Worcester Warriors head to the Westcountry for a 3pm kick-off.

Round Six sees Baxter’s outfit tackle Bath at the Recreation Ground on Friday, October 5 (7:45pm), after which the Premiership takes a five-week break as the opening two rounds of Europe and the opening three rounds of the newly-named Premiership Rugby Cup all take place.

On it’s resumption in November, the Chiefs make their shortest trip of the season when they come up against newly-promoted Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate on Sunday, November 18 (3pm).

November is capped off with a home encounter against Gloucester on Saturday, November 24 (3pm) and then another Friday night TV date, this time in the nation’s capital as the Chiefs visit Harlequins on Friday, November 31 (7:45pm).

BT Sport have confirmed their TV picks up to Round Nine of this season’s competition, but notable dates for Exeter supporters to have lightly pencilled into their diaries will be a Christmas encounter against defending champions Saracens at Sandy Park.

Bristol will provide the first opposition of 2019 to Sandy Park on either January 5 or 6, while the latter stages of the competition, where play-off places could be potentially up for grabs, see the Chiefs have three of their last four games of the season at home against Wasps, Harlequins and final-day visitors Northampton Saints.

Tickets for all confirmed games are now available. Click here to visit the TicketHub.
