Beloved husband of Betty, much-loved dad of Ian, Rob & Sarah and a loving father-in-law, grandad and great grandad, Roger died suddenly last week at the age of 84.

Following his playing days, Roger - who was a club member since 1955 - served as team secretary, ran the bars in the Memorial Club at the old County Ground, as well as serving on the club committee for numerous years.

Club chief executive and chairman, Tony Rowe CBE, said: "Everyone associated with Exeter Rugby Club send their deepest sympathies to the family of Roger, particularly his wife, Betty and children, Ian, Rob and Sarah. Roger epitomised everything that is good and great about our wonderful club. For years he has served Exeter Rugby Club with an unwavering passion and dedication which, I know, he was going to do even more in his role as president. Sadly, we have lost one of the great supporters and stalwarts of our club. He will be fondly remembered for all of his magnificent efforts over the years, whilst deeply missed from match-days here at Sandy Park."
