Ellie Cunningham was thrust into the action when she started at fly-half for Chiefs in this season’s Allianz Cup. She is continuing to blend her exercise and sports science studies with Chiefs training and playing for the University of Exeter
Cunningham began playing rugby at five years old having watched her older brother play. She played for Eton Manor RFC for 13 years and was spotted by Saracens Centre of Excellence. Highlight of her career so far is winning the BUCS semi-final in Edinburgh and getting to the final in her first year.
Cunningham made her debut for Chiefs against Sale Sharks Women at Sandy Park in a cup game in October 2023.
