Exeter Chiefs Under-18s maintained their 100 per cent record in this season's Premiership Under-18 League with a resounding 53-5 victory over Bristol at Sandy Park.

In a powerful display from Rob Gibson and Marek Churcher's side, they found themselves 12-0 up inside five minutes as they claimed early tries through Jack Oulton and Tom Hendrickson, one of which was converted by Laurence May.

Two tries from the impressive May sandwiched Bristol's only score through Julian Mogg midway through the first half, but that would be the visitors sole highlight in a game dominated by the Chiefs.

Two more scores in as many minutes continued Exeter's first half dominance as first winger Jack Faulkner finished off good approach work from Brad Howe and Oulton; then Faulkner himself linked cleverly with centre Hendrickson, who did the rest as the Chiefs led 34-5 at the break.

With the elements at their back in the second half, the Chiefs took just six minutes to add to their tally as replacement flanker Toby Papp finished off some adventurous attacking play with try number seven, which fly-half Joel Matavesi converted with ease.

It was proving one-way traffic as the Chiefs continued to dominate proceedings. Forwards Ed Holmes and Jack Stanley were enjoying fine games and it was the latter who got himself onto the scoresheet when he rumbled over from a well constructed line-out move.

The contest was already well and truly over by the time the Chiefs added a ninth try to the board, courtesy of replacement Tom Putt, who swooped on a loose ball to finish from halfway.

Up next for the Chiefs is a challenging trip to London Wasps on January 4.
