And capping off 2013 for the Chiefs was the news that they have been selected as Team of the Year for the third time in four years.

BBC Spotlight presenter Natalie Cornah said: “Congratulations to the Exeter Chiefs for another great season. The team represents the South West brilliantly in the Premiership and we are very proud of them. The fact they are still holding their heads high among the best sides in the UK and the rest of Europe is why we gave them the team award.

His breakthrough into the England coaching set up was superb and hopefully winning Sportsman of the Year has capped off a great year for Jack Nowell. One of the most inspiring players of his generation – he’s certainly one to watch."
