Quartet named in Under-18s squad

 

Four Exeter Chiefs youngsters have been named in the England Under-18s squad for the 2013 FIRA/AER European Championship, held in Grenoble.

Forwards Matt Bolwell, Luke Chapman and Charlie Hewitt, together with scrum-half Stuart Townsend, have been included for defending champions England, who face Portugal in their first game on Friday (KO 7pm local time) before readying themselves for a potential semi-final and final.

Head Coach John Fletcher said: “We’ve got a good squad for this tournament but we know that it will be a challenge. We’re missing a few lads; Alfie Barron, Max Clark, Brett Herron and Will Owen are injured unfortunately, but it gives an opportunity for guys to come in and impress.  Our aim is to build on the recent performances against Scotland and Wales and improve through the three games"
