LV= Cup Final is a sell-out
For the first time in the LV= Cup era, the final has sold out with three days still remaining before the big game on Sunday, March 16th.
With Exeter Chiefs securing a place in the final following a 19-22 win over Bath Rugby, home support as well as a strong travelling contingent from Northampton Saints has seen a surge in ticket sales since the weekend's semi-finals.
The two finalists have met once before in a domestic cup final, Saints coming out on top, 24-13 in the 2008 edition of the old EDF Energy National Trophy competition. Since winning promotion to the Premiership in 2010, Exeter have won two and lost seven of their nine meetings with the Saints.
But with Sandy Park selected as the Final venue prior to the start of the current season, the Chiefs will be confident of bucking the trend in front of a sell out crowd.
"To sell out Sandy Park for this year's LV=Cup Final is incredible news” commented Claire Jeromson, Head of Sponsorship at LV=. "The game is sure to be another great rugby occasion and to have so many members of the rugby family there will make it a special day."
The 2014 LV= Cup Final at Sandy Park on March 16, KO 3pm, is live on Sky Sports. You can also keep up to date by following @lvrugby. #rugbyfamily
