Exeter Chiefs fans can start plotting their seasonal journey from 11am this Thursday when the new 2016/17 Aviva Premiership fixtures are announced.

The official club website will have the listings for all 22 league fixtures, as well as the weekend dates for games played in this season's European Champions Cup and the return of the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

With the return of local rivals Bristol to the top flight following their promotion out of the Championship in May, there will no doubt be extra interest amongst supporters in the local derby fixtures.

Rob Baxter's side will kick-off their pre-season campaign with a home friendly against Pro 12 opponents Scarlets on Saturday, August 13 (3pm) before Ulster visit Sandy Park a week later on Saturday, August 20 (3pm).

The Chiefs, who have added international stars Dave Dennis, Ollie Devoto and Greg Holmes to their playing ranks this summer, will wrap up their pre-season programme on Friday, August 26 when they travel to Newport to face the Dragons at Rodney Parade (7:45pm).

The home fixtures against the Scarlets and Ulster are included in all season ticket packages, as will of course all 11 regular Premiership fixtures, two Anglo-Welsh Cup games and the three matches in the pool stages of the Champions Cup against Bordeaux-Begles, ASM Clermont Auvergne and Ulster.

For those supporters who have yet to sign up for a 2016/17 Chiefs Season Ticket, they are still available to purchase, starting at a cost of £340 for adults, £122 for children aged Under-16 and £235 for students.

Before the pre-season friendlies, however, Sandy Park will play host to two upcoming Sevens events.

Kicking things off this Saturday and Sunday (July 9-10) will be the Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s, which will see the top 12 European countries in action as part of Rugby Europe's Grand Prix Series.

Then on Saturday, July 23, the Chiefs will themselves be in action on home soil when they tackle rivals Bristol, Bath and Wasps in the second leg of the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s.
