Slade figures in England victory

Henry Slade won his third international cap as he came off the bench to help England to a 58-15 victory over Fiji at Twickenham.

Eddie Jones’ side stretched their winning run to 12 matches with a dominant display against the South Sea Islanders.

Bath duo Jonathan Joseph and Semesa Rokodoguni both helped themselves to a brace of tries for the home side, as did Wasps lock Joe Launchbury, while Elliot Daly, Teimana Harrison and Alex Goode also found themselves on the try sheet.

Owen Farrell kicked four conversions and a penalty, while George Ford completed the scoring with a solitary conversion.

Fiji, who included Exeter newcomer Niko Matawalu in their match-day squad, scored tries through Leone Nakarawa, Metuisela Talebula and former Chiefs winger Nemani Nadolo.

Elsewhere, Moray Low added to his international tally of caps as he came off the bench in Scotland’s last-gasp 19-16 win over Argentina at Murrayfield.

Greig Laidlaw was Scotland’s hero, landing a fourth penalty of the afternoon in the final minute, to go alongside his conversion of Sean Maitland’s try earlier in the game.

Matias Orlando scored Argentina’s solitary try, which was converted by fly-half Nicolas Sanchez, who also banged over there penalties.

Over in Spain, Elvis Taione was part of the victorious Tonga side, who edged out rivals USA 20-17.
