After a pulsating opening round, the Gallagher Premiership Rugby season continues apace from Friday night with three more hugely anticipated televised contests on offer.

To kick-off the second round, Bath will welcome Exeter Chiefs to The Rec for another Westcountry derby contest, which will be live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate from 7pm.

The hosts will be looking to put their defeat to local rivals Bristol Bears behind them against last season’s beaten finalists, who began their campaign with a narrow win over Harlequins.

Chiefs would be wise to expect a similarly hard-fought affair when they square off with a bruised Bath side who will no doubt be desperate to show what they can do.

Referee JP Doyle takes up the reins for the clash and he will be aided by Anthony Woodthorpe and Paul Dix.

Elsewhere, there could also be fireworks in Saturday’s live game, which sees Gloucester Rugby host Wasps, live coverage starting at 2.30pm on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Ultimate with kick-off at 3pm.

The home side will be full of confidence after a dramatic comeback victory over Sale Sharks and if this affair provides even half of the drama we witnessed at the AJ Bell then fans will be in for a treat.

Wasps, meanwhile, will want to get their season going after they were on the wrong end of another close contest against newly-promoted London Irish in their first match of the new campaign.

Sunday will then see the action come to a thrilling conclusion at Welford Road where Leicester Tigers face Saracens, coverage beginning at 2.30pm on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate with kick-off at 3pm.

Both teams suffered defeat last time out and will be determined to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking.

Defending champions Saracens, who surrendered their 16-game winning run in Gallagher Premiership Rugby at Allianz Park to Northampton Saints, will be acutely aware that titles can be won and lost on early season form.

In a similar vein, Tigers will be plotting a return to form after losing to Worcester Warriors so a box office encounter is set to be in the offing.

Should you miss any of the live action, Channel 5 has you covered on Monday night, with the highlights show airing at 7pm.
