The double-winning exploits of the Exeter Chiefs have today been rewarded by Devon glassmakers, Dartington Crystal, who have created a special tankard for the club’s players, coaches and support staff.

In what was a memorable 2019/20 season for the Chiefs, Rob Baxter’s side lifted not only the Heineken Champions Cup for the first time with victory over Racing 92, but followed it up by claiming a second Gallagher Premiership crown with victory over Wasps.

Each hand-made 'Torrington' crystal tankard, which has been personalised with the recipient’s name, features the Chiefs logo and engraved inscription as English and European champions.

Dartington Managing Director, Neil Hughes, said: “We enjoy a very good relationship with Exeter Chiefs, so we were delighted to show our appreciation of their success in this way. What better way to 'raise a glass' to Exeter's double-winning year than with a special tankard made in Devon.”

Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, along with Director of Rugby, Rob Baxter OBE, and first team stars Stuart Hogg and Henry Slade today held a socially-distanced presentation at the club’s Sandy Park Stadium

Mr Rowe said: “As a club we are very grateful for this wonderful gesture that Dartington Crystal have provided to us to mark the achievements of last season in winning both the Champions Cup and the Premiership.

“Dartington Crystal is renowned for its quality glassware, which is produced right here in Devon and which is sold within our own club shop. On behalf of the club and the playing side, I cannot thank enough for honouring our success in this way.”

Dartington Crystal are currently working with the Exeter Chiefs retail team to soon offer this exclusive personalised tankard to supporters of the club to purchase online through the Trading Post.
