Exeter Chiefs can confirm their scheduled pre-season friendly against the Cornish Pirates has been cancelled.

Rob Baxter's side were once again due to travel to the Mennaye Field on Friday, September 11 as part of their preparation plans for the 2020/21 season.

However, the Chiefs will no longer be able to fulfil the fixture as they will now be finishing out the remainder of the current Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup campaign, which has been re-arranged following the break in play due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Both the Chiefs and the Pirates are optimistic the friendly can be rearranged for a later date.
