Network Rail is carrying out upgrade work affecting GWR train services this spring which may impact people travelling at weekends.

Work will be taking place on the Devon mainline from Sunday, February 17 until Friday, March 8, affecting services between Taunton and Exeter St Davids and between Newton Abbot and Plymouth.

In addition, engineering work is also taking place on 16/17, 23/24 and 30/31 March south of Bristol affecting services between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare/Taunton.

Work will also be taking place on 6/7 and 13/14 April plus 11/12 May in the Bath area, affecting train services between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads, Westbury and Swindon..

Incidentally, Network Rail is planning to carry work affecting services on the South Wales mainline at weekends and bank holidays until the autumn.

In addition to this, there will also be work taking place affecting various routes across the network so we would strongly advise those travelling at weekends to check before they travel at www.GWR.com/Check.

These important upgrade projects by Network Rail are all aimed at improving the reliability and performance of the railways and to support train operators like GWR in offering improved services for customers.
