Emily Magee’s father used to play semi-pro in England for Selby RFC back in the 1970s and 1980s, so when her high school started a rugby programme, she was “kindly pressured” to participate.
Born in St Louis, Missouri, Magee has played around the world with stints at Mount Maunganui Rugby Club in New Zealand, Concordia University and Montreal Irish in Canada, ARPTC in Arkansas, and New York Rugby Club. She won the National Club Championship in 2017 with the latter.
Happy at centre or on the wing, she has also played sevens and came up against the Fijian national team in a sevens tournament.
