Tighthead prop Ehren Painter joined the Chiefs in March 2023 from Gallagher Premiership rivals Northampton Saints.
A product of Northampton’s Academy, Painter – who tips the scales at 133kg and stands 6ft 4in – made his senior debut for the Saints against Saracens in 2018 and has been a regular within their first-team ranks ever since.
Born in London, he represented England at age-grade level, including for the Under 20s in both the Six Nations and World Rugby Championships in 2018.
Prior to signing, Painter described Chiefs as a club he has huge respect for having come up against Exeter numerous times in the past, he knew the threat they pose in terms of their pack of forwards and that was something he wanted to be a part of.
The prop thinks testing himself in a new environment will be good for his game as it will allow him to develop a new outlook on things, learn from different coaches and play with different players.
