Niall Armstrong

The 2023/24 season marks his maiden year at the Chiefs for young Belfast-born scrum half Niall Armstrong. The half back started playing at his local rugby club, Lisburn RFC, at the age of 11 before progressing through the Ulster Rugby underage pathway – which is where he was spotted by Chiefs coaches.
Originally brought into the Chiefs bubble through the Exeter University programme, Armstrong described as winning back-to-back BUCS Super Rugby titles as his career highlight so far.
Playing his first games in a Chiefs shirt in the new-look Premiership Rugby Cup at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Armstrong is looking to begin to make his stamp on the senior ranks throughout the rest of the season.
